The firm has litigated many forms of complex legal and multifactual disputes. The firm has utilized jury analysis, opinion polls and jury questionnaires, bringing to bear the latest techniques in resolving disputes for its clients. The firm was involved in a month long trial resulting in a $14 million verdict against the State of Alaska, which concluded in December of 1995. The firm successfully defended the State of Alaska against a complex class action litigation alleging the State is responsible for over $50 million lost by investors in the World Plus/Bonham Ponzi scheme resulting in a complete dismissal of all claims. The firm also recently defended a multinational corporation in a case charging wrongful termination of its Alaskan chief executive officer, in which the claims were in excess of $8 million. The firm has been involved in the dissolution of an international business arrangement between companies located in Australia and Alaska, which dispute involved over $100 million and was ultimately mediated out of the state. The firm represented Carr-Gottstein Foods Co. in a class action antitrust suit. The firm has represented ANCSA Native Village corporations and Native non-profit corporations in both litigation and commercial transactions. BGO also represented the Municipality of Anchorage in substantial construction litigation involving the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts and the Port of Anchorage.
